About Your Prescription
Compounded medications are prepared by state-licensed pharmacies following a prescription from your licensed healthcare provider. Although these medications have not undergone FDA approval, they are prepared under state and federal regulatory oversight and must adhere to established safety and quality standards.
IMPORTANT: Sprout Health offers compounded semaglutide, which is prepared by state-licensed pharmacies.
Compounded medications are not FDA-approved. The FDA does not verify the safety, effectiveness, or quality of compounded drugs before they are marketed.
FDA-approved semaglutide products (such as Ozempic® and Wegovy®) are available through traditional healthcare providers. Compounded semaglutide should only be used when an FDA-approved medication cannot meet your specific medical needs.
Your provider will determine if compounded semaglutide is appropriate for your individual situation.
Refill Process
Refill eligibility is determined through clinical review.
- Monthly Plans – Subscriptions rebill monthly. A follow-up questionnaire may be required before continued treatment is approved.
- Quarterly Plans – Subscriptions rebill every three months. Additional clinical review may be required before subsequent shipments are authorized.
- Your provider may adjust your dose during refill reviews based on your progress, side effects, and clinical needs.
- Medication type, dosage, and refill timing depend on clinical evaluation.
Dose Changes
- Do not change your dose without your provider’s approval
- If your dose is changed, verify the new concentration and injection volume with the provider before your next injection
- Different refill shipments may contain different concentrations – always check the label on each new vial
