Sprout Health works with state-licensed compounding pharmacies to fulfill prescriptions issued by our licensed providers. All partner pharmacies:
- Hold current state pharmacy licenses
- Are subject to state board of pharmacy oversight

- Operate as 503A compounding pharmacies based on individual patient prescriptions
IMPORTANT: Compounded medications are not FDA-approved. The FDA does not verify the safety, effectiveness, or quality of compounded drugs before they are marketed.

Understanding 503A Pharmacies
503A compounding pharmacies:
- Prepare medications based on individual patient prescriptions
- Are regulated primarily by state boards of pharmacy
- Can only compound after receiving a valid prescription from a licensed provider
- Must follow state and federal compounding regulations
This is different from 503B facilities, which can compound medications in larger batches and are subject to FDA inspection.
