About NAD+
NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) is a coenzyme found naturally in every cell of the body. It plays a central role in cellular energy production, DNA repair, and metabolic regulation. NAD+ levels naturally decline with age, which has led to growing scientific interest in NAD+ supplementation as a strategy to support cellular health and vitality.
IMPORTANT: Sprout Health’s NAD+ protocol uses compounded NAD+ prepared by state-licensed pharmacies.
Compounded NAD+ is not FDA-approved. There is currently no FDA-approved injectable NAD+ product indicated for general wellness, energy metabolism, or cognitive support.
The FDA does not verify the safety, effectiveness, or quality of compounded drugs before they are marketed. NAD+ therapy should only be used under the supervision of a licensed healthcare provider who has determined that it is clinically appropriate for your individual situation.
How Does NAD+ Work?
NAD+ is involved in hundreds of metabolic processes in the body, including:
- Cellular energy production – NAD+ is essential for converting nutrients into cellular energy (ATP) through mitochondrial function
- DNA repair – NAD+ supports enzymes (such as sirtuins and PARPs) involved in repairing damaged DNA
- Metabolic regulation – NAD+ plays a role in maintaining healthy metabolic function, including glucose and lipid metabolism
- Cellular signaling – NAD+ is involved in signaling pathways associated with aging, inflammation, and stress response
As NAD+ levels decline with age, supplementation is intended to support these fundamental biological processes.
What NAD+ Therapy Is and Is Not
NAD+ therapy IS:
- A physician-supervised protocol designed to support cellular health and metabolic function
- Administered as a compounded injectable preparation prescribed by your licensed provider
- One component of a broader wellness strategy that may include nutrition, exercise, and other lifestyle factors
NAD+ therapy is NOT:
- FDA-approved for any specific disease or medical condition
- A cure, treatment, or prevention for any disease
- A substitute for medical treatment of any diagnosed condition
Statements about NAD+ and its role in cellular processes reflect general scientific understanding of this coenzyme’s biological functions. They are not intended to claim that Sprout Health’s NAD+ protocol will diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.
Who May Be a Candidate for NAD+ Therapy?
During your clinical evaluation, your provider will assess whether NAD+ therapy is appropriate for you based on your medical history, current health status, wellness goals, and any existing medications or conditions.
NAD+ therapy is not appropriate for everyone, and approval is not guaranteed.
