Before You Begin
Before starting compounded NAD+ therapy, your licensed provider will conduct a thorough evaluation that includes:
- Review of your medical history, current medications, and any existing health conditions
- Assessment of your wellness goals and whether NAD+ therapy is clinically appropriate for your situation
- Determination of your recommended dosing protocol
IMPORTANT: Sprout Health’s NAD+ protocol uses compounded NAD+ prepared by state-licensed pharmacies.
Compounded NAD+ is not FDA-approved. There is currently no FDA-approved injectable NAD+ product indicated for general wellness, energy metabolism, or cognitive support.
The FDA does not verify the safety, effectiveness, or quality of compounded drugs before they are marketed. NAD+ therapy should only be used under the supervision of a licensed healthcare provider who has determined it is clinically appropriate for your individual situation.
Your First Shipment
When your NAD+ medication arrives:
- Inspect the package for damage or signs the medication got too warm
- Verify the label – confirm the medication name, concentration, your name, and expiration date
- Refrigerate immediately at 36-46°F (2-8°C) unless the label states otherwise
- Review all included materials – administration instructions, dosing information, and disposal guidelines
Dosing Safety
Before your first dose:
- Verify the concentration of your NAD+ preparation (mg/mL) with your prescription
- Confirm your prescribed dose in milligrams (mg) with your provider
- Understand the correct volume to draw if using an injectable preparation
- Do not confuse “units” marked on insulin-style syringes with milligrams (mg)
If you are uncertain about any aspect of measuring or administering your dose, contact your clinician or the compounding pharmacy before your first administration.
